How to Claim Pag-IBIG Savings
Check when you can withdraw Regular Savings, what documents to prepare, and whether to file online or at a Pag-IBIG branch.
Quick answer
You can file a Pag-IBIG savings claim after a qualifying event, such as 20-year membership maturity, retirement, permanent total disability, health-related separation, approved critical illness, permanent departure, repatriation, death, or the one-time 15-year optional withdrawal. Use the current Application for Provident Benefits Claim, HQP-PFF-285, and submit the documents required for your specific reason.
Your claim is generally based on your Total Accumulated Value, which includes posted member savings, the employer counterpart when applicable, and credited dividends, less outstanding obligations with Pag-IBIG Fund.
What a Pag-IBIG savings claim means
A savings claim is formally called a provident benefits claim. It is the process used to request the release of eligible Pag-IBIG I or Regular Savings after a recognized claim ground occurs.
Regular Savings is built from your own posted contributions, the employer counterpart for employed members, and annual dividends credited to the account. It is different from taking a loan because you are requesting the release of accumulated savings that already belong to your membership record.
The current official APB form is HQP-PFF-285, version V11 dated April 2026. It covers Pag-IBIG I claims and also contains options for MP2 maturity or pre-termination, but this page primarily owns the broader Regular Savings claim intent.
When can you claim Pag-IBIG savings?
The current APB form lists several grounds. Meeting one ground does not remove the need to submit complete supporting proof.
| Claim ground | Basic eligibility | Important note |
|---|---|---|
| Membership term maturity | 20 years of membership with 240 monthly membership savings recorded. | The period is reckoned from the initial contribution recorded in the Pag-IBIG database. |
| Retirement | Compulsory at age 65, or earlier under recognized retirement conditions. | Early conditions include actual SSS, GSIS or government retirement, a private employer plan at age 45 or older, or reaching age 60. |
| Permanent total disability or insanity | A condition that prevents the member from performing work, business or an occupation. | Medical and benefit records may be required to support the claim. |
| Termination due to health | The member can no longer serve the employer because of a severe health condition certified by a doctor. | This is different from ordinary resignation or unemployment. |
| Critical illness | Approved illness of the member or an immediate family member. | The current form identifies cancer, organ failure, heart-related illness, stroke and neuromuscular-related illness, subject to approval. |
| Optional withdrawal | 180 continuous monthly savings, equivalent to 15 years. | The option may be exercised only once during the membership term. An eligible member may request less than the full eligible amount. |
| Permanent departure | The member has permission to remain indefinitely in a host country or has permanently left the Philippines to reside abroad. | Immigration and identity documents are normally central to this claim. |
| Repatriation | Return to the member’s country of origin under applicable circumstances. | This ground appears in the April 2026 APB form and is among the grounds supported for online filing. |
| Death | The member’s heir, representative, court administrator or executor may file. | Legal heirship and succession documents make this a more document-heavy claim. |
| Expatriate or other approved reason | Subject to the applicable Pag-IBIG rules or Board approval. | Confirm the current documentary checklist directly with Pag-IBIG Fund. |
How much can you claim?
Total Accumulated Value
The amount generally consists of your posted member savings, the employer counterpart when applicable, and dividends credited to the account. The exact figure depends on what was actually remitted and recorded.
Deductions and partial release
Outstanding Pag-IBIG obligations may be deducted before release. When an employer counterpart has not yet been remitted, Pag-IBIG may initially release only the amounts actually credited and release collected residual amounts later.
You can review posted records through Virtual Pag-IBIG. A missing or incomplete contribution history should be investigated before filing because a claim is calculated from actual posted savings. The Pag-IBIG contribution article explains how contribution records and employer shares work.
Pag-IBIG savings claim requirements
Every claim begins with the APB form, identification and supporting proof. The exact documents change according to the claim ground and the member’s circumstances.
- One accomplished Application for Provident Benefits Claim, HQP-PFF-285
- At least one valid ID with readable information
- Documents proving the selected claim ground
- Disbursement card, payroll account or deposit proof when applicable
- Clear scanned or photographed files for online filing
- A selfie showing the claimant holding the valid ID for supported online claims
Documents commonly connected to each claim ground
Maturity and optional withdrawal
Pag-IBIG verifies the membership period and posted monthly savings. Employment history or records explaining contribution gaps may be requested when the database needs clarification.
Retirement
Supporting proof may include a retirement order, retirement voucher, service record or certificate from a private employer’s retirement plan, depending on the member type.
Disability, health separation or critical illness
Expect medical certification and records that establish the condition. Health-related separation may also need employer certification or related employment evidence.
Permanent departure or repatriation
Passport, visa, permanent residence, immigration or repatriation evidence may be required. Documents issued abroad may need authentication or apostille treatment depending on the issuing country and document type.
Death claim
The claimant may need a PSA death certificate, proof of surviving legal heirs, civil registry documents proving relationship, valid IDs and waivers when an heir gives up rights in favor of another person. Review the complete Pag-IBIG death claim requirements and filing process before preparing notarized documents.
Filing through a representative
An authorization letter and valid IDs of the member and representative may be required. A guardian, heir or court-appointed representative may need additional proof of authority.
How to claim Pag-IBIG savings
Start by confirming the claim ground. Filing a complete application is more important than choosing the fastest-looking channel.
Confirm the correct reason for claim
Match your situation with a ground shown on the current APB form. Do not select retirement, health separation or permanent departure without documents that support that reason.
Check and update your member record
Verify your MID number, name, date of birth, civil status and posted savings. Use the MID number instructions when you need to retrieve or verify the membership identifier.
Complete the latest APB form
Fill in personal, contact, employment and claim details. The April 2026 form also allows eligible members to indicate an amount for optional withdrawal or repatriation and to provide disbursement information.
Prepare claim-specific documents
Arrange the files by purpose and make every name, date, number and signature readable. Correct record inconsistencies before submission whenever possible.
Submit online or at a branch
Use Virtual Pag-IBIG only when the selected claim ground is supported online. Other grounds and complex cases should be filed at a Pag-IBIG branch with complete documents.
Keep your reference and monitor the claim
Save the acknowledgment, claim file number or branch receipt. Respond promptly when Pag-IBIG requests clarification or another document.
Online filing through Virtual Pag-IBIG
The current APB form states that online filing is available only for selected grounds. These are membership term maturity after 20 years, retirement, the 15-year optional withdrawal, repatriation and MP2 maturity.
Prepare a clear copy of the completed APB form, one valid ID, supporting documents and a selfie showing you holding the ID. Access the official Virtual Pag-IBIG service and follow the provident benefits claim instructions shown there.
Members who have difficulty entering the portal can review the Pag-IBIG login troubleshooting page. Account creation and available services are explained in the Virtual Pag-IBIG overview.
Filing at a Pag-IBIG branch
Download the latest APB form from the official Pag-IBIG website or obtain it at a branch. Complete one copy and attach the supporting documents for your selected ground. When claim proceeds will be released through a payroll account or disbursement card, include a copy of the front of the card or a deposit slip for a newly opened account when required.
Submit the application to a Pag-IBIG branch. The official form states that processing begins only after complete documents have been submitted. A branch filing is often the safer choice when the claim involves heirs, a representative, medical evidence, foreign documents, mismatched records or a ground that is not available through Virtual Pag-IBIG.
Before visiting
- Confirm branch hours through an official channel
- Carry original IDs and supporting documents
- Bring readable photocopies
- Write your MID number accurately
Before leaving the branch
- Ask whether the application is complete
- Keep the acknowledgment or claim reference
- Confirm how requests for more documents will arrive
- Never leave original documents unless officially required
How claim proceeds are released
Pag-IBIG may release an approved claim by crediting a claimant’s disbursement card or payroll account, issuing a check payable to the claimant, or using another approved payment mode. The current APB form lists LandBank PACSVAL, LandBank Cash Card, UnionBank Loyalty Card Plus and AUB Loyalty Card Plus among the account or card options.
The form states that LandBank Cash Card has a maximum aggregate monthly credit amount of ₱500,000, while the listed LandBank PACSVAL, UnionBank Loyalty Card Plus and AUB Loyalty Card Plus options show no limit on the form. When proceeds are above the applicable bank limit, release may be made through check.
The approved amount can also be affected by outstanding Pag-IBIG loans or other obligations. The application agreement authorizes Pag-IBIG Fund to deduct amounts due before releasing the net provident benefit.
How long does a Pag-IBIG savings claim take?
There is no single reliable processing period for every claim ground. A straightforward maturity claim with complete records is different from a death claim involving several heirs, a medical claim requiring review, or a case with missing employer remittances.
Do not rely on an unofficial fixed number of days. The current APB form confirms that processing starts only after complete documents are submitted. Ask for the applicable service timeline when Pag-IBIG accepts the claim and use your reference number when following up.
Common reasons a claim is delayed
- Using an outdated or incomplete APB form
- Selecting a claim ground without sufficient proof
- Name, birth date or civil status discrepancies
- Unreadable ID, selfie or scanned pages
- Contribution gaps or missing employer remittances
- Incomplete heirship or relationship documents
- Foreign records without required authentication
- Incorrect disbursement card or account information
What happens after you claim your savings?
A full provident benefits claim based on membership termination generally closes the savings tied to that membership period, subject to Pag-IBIG rules and any future mandatory coverage. An optional withdrawal is different because an eligible member can withdraw all or part of the amount allowed after 180 continuous monthly savings, and the remaining balance plus future savings stays for a later qualifying release.
If employer savings or other amounts are credited after an earlier claim, Pag-IBIG may treat them as residual Total Accumulated Value and release them under the applicable process. Keep your membership details, contact information and claim documents because they may be needed to trace later remittances.
The APB form allows address and contact details to be updated through the claim application. Changes to other membership information may require the Member’s Change of Information Form and supporting proof. Review the Pag-IBIG member data form information when your record needs a broader correction.

Frequently asked questions
When can I claim my Pag-IBIG savings?
You may claim after a recognized ground occurs, including 20-year membership maturity with 240 monthly savings, retirement, permanent total disability, health-related separation, approved critical illness, the one-time 15-year optional withdrawal, permanent departure, repatriation, death or another approved reason.
Can I claim Pag-IBIG savings after 10 years?
The current April 2026 APB form describes optional withdrawal after 15 years of continuous membership savings, equivalent to 180 monthly savings. It does not list an ordinary 10-year withdrawal option.
Can I claim after 15 years?
An eligible member may use the optional withdrawal after completing 180 continuous monthly savings. The option can be exercised only once during the membership term, and the member may request less than the full eligible amount.
Can I withdraw my Pag-IBIG savings if I resign?
Ordinary resignation is not automatically a provident claim ground. You still need a recognized reason, such as retirement, health-related termination, permanent departure or another qualifying event.
Can an unemployed member claim Regular Savings?
Unemployment alone is not listed as a general Regular Savings claim ground on the current APB form. Check whether another recognized condition applies to your situation.
Can I file a savings claim online?
Virtual Pag-IBIG supports selected grounds: 20-year membership term maturity, retirement, 15-year optional withdrawal, repatriation and MP2 maturity. Other or more complex claims may require branch filing.
What form is used to claim Pag-IBIG savings?
Use the Application for Provident Benefits Claim, HQP-PFF-285. The official form available during this review is version V11 dated April 2026.
What is included in the Pag-IBIG claim amount?
The Total Accumulated Value generally includes posted member savings, the employer counterpart when applicable, and credited dividends, less outstanding obligations with Pag-IBIG Fund.
Will an unpaid Pag-IBIG loan be deducted?
Yes. The APB agreement authorizes Pag-IBIG Fund to apply all or part of the provident benefit against outstanding Pag-IBIG loans or other obligations before releasing the net proceeds.
What if my employer did not remit all contributions?
Pag-IBIG may release the amount based on savings actually credited to the account. Amounts collected later from the employer may be released subsequently under the rules for residual savings.
How long does the claim process take?
The timeline varies by claim ground, record completeness and required review. Processing begins only after complete documents are submitted, so obtain the applicable service timeline when the claim is accepted.
Can a representative file for me?
The official form allows filing by the member, guardian or an authorized representative. Authorization, identification and proof of legal authority may be required.
Who files when a Pag-IBIG member dies?
An heir or the heir’s representative may file, as may an appointed court administrator or executor. Pag-IBIG requires documents establishing death, legal heirs and the claimant’s relationship or authority.
Can I claim only part of my savings?
Partial withdrawal is described for an eligible 15-year optional withdrawal. The remaining Total Accumulated Value and later savings stay for release after a future ground for membership termination occurs.
Is the MP2 claim included in this process?
The same APB form contains MP2 maturity and pre-termination options, but MP2 has separate five-year maturity and early withdrawal rules. Review the dedicated MP2 Savings article before filing.
